The challenge
Servers, databases and APIs could all appear healthy while customers were unable to complete a critical transaction. Technical monitoring did not show where the business journey stopped producing its intended outcome.
Why it was difficult
A transaction crossed validation, payment or confirmation and downstream processing. Each step could succeed technically while the combined journey failed semantically or showed an unusual behavioural drop.
How we approach it
Technical telemetry was connected to business events across the complete journey. Step transitions, final outcomes, downstream processing and abnormal drops were monitored together so responders could locate the broken business boundary.
